Mr. Honjo, a special professor at Kyoto University who received a Nobel Prize in medicine for research on new cancer drugs, has been insisting that a license fee paid from Ono Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. to the university is too low.

Mr. Honjo said, “There was no accurate explanation or information from the company during contracting stage”.

Ono said “Kyoto University had been also involved in the contract process and Mr. Honjo himself signed the contract”.

Mr. Honjo will open the details of the contract in the near future.

I worked in a university’s IP department about five years, so I can understand the heart of the university license officer.
